Vampire?

About three things I was absolutely positive.

First, she is not a vampire. Short, clumsy, and her skin is definitely not pale white and ice cold. Hmm her breath is kinda sweet though but the other stuff don't match so I'm sure.

Second, there was a part of her - and I didn't know how dominant that part might be - that did not thirst for my blood. Well I bet she wouldn't drink my blood unless there was no more water left on this earth.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with her.

A Love Letter

I've always kept it secret, but I'm constantly thinking of you. I ignore you, but I'm constantly thinking of you. The truth of the matter is I'm always thinking of you. I like you because you are honest, like a clear blue sky. I like you because your kindness is as boundless as the sea. The day I cut my hair too much, I was embarrassed to meet you. I was secretly looking at your profile. I wondered what I would do if you came to hate me.

What colours do you like?
What music do you like?
What kind of clothes do you like?
What hairstyle do you like?
What kind of person do you like?

I really wanted to ask you. You are where you can hear me, but I don't say anything to you. I say everything inside my heart. I like you. I like you. I like you. A hundred times, a thousand times, I can't say it enough. The night is over now. The sky is growing brighter. The light coming through the curtains is falling on this letter. Knowing that all I have to do is stretch out my fingers a little and you are there makes me smile. With you this close, I fall in love.

I've never seen a shooting star. I've never made a wish on a magic lamp. I don't need a dream. I have nothing to wish for. I only want to be with you. So don't let go of me. I'm actually not strong. I become lonely easily. So please don't let go of me. Please don't ever let go. "I wonder if I will be discovered one day. I wonder if she'll figure me out." When I thought that it made my heart race. Like a precious treasure to a child I hid my feelings. I've always kept it secret, but I'm constantly thinking of you. I ignored you, but I'm constantly thinking of you. The truth of the matter is I'm always thinking of you.

Happiness

Being happy is not just about one day. Happiness might not be about what you have, or what just happened, but rather... How should I say this.. Happiness is pursuing something. Please look after her. Not just when she is a bride, not just one day, but now and for a long time ahead, please stay with her and watch her pursue her happiness. I... I want to pursue it with her too. I will make her happy. I will definitely make her happy.

Don't Discriminate

Any one who has common sense will remember that the bewilderments of the eyes are of two kinds, and arise from two causes, either from coming out of the light or from going into the light, which is true of the mind's eye, quite as much as of the bodily eye; and he who remembers this when he sees any one whose vision is perplexed and weak, will not be too ready to laugh; he will first ask whether that soul of man has come out of the brighter life, and is unable to see because unaccustomed to the dark, or having turned from darkness to day is dazzled by excess of light. And he will count the one happy in his condition and state of being, and he will pity the other; or, if he has a mind to laugh at the soul which comes from below into the light, there will be more reason in this than in the laugh which greets him who returns from above out of the light into the den.

Parting Words

I am like the little rice cracker shop. One that you get used to always seeing. But then one day you notice, the place that my little shop used to be at is under construction. And you think to yourself, 'eh? what was the shop that used to be here?' You took for granted it was there, but now you can't remember it. Eventually you too... You will eventually... forget me just like that, not be able to remember, so it's alright.

JH's GAY ABOUT ME

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award winning operas, I manage time efficiently. I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by Manchester United, I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. After school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal force demo. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.

I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Harry Potter, and David Copperfield in half a day. I have performed several covert operations for the CIA and FBI. While on vacation in Israel, I successfully negotiated with terrorists who had seized a small bakery.

The laws of physics do not apply to me. I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid.Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prizewinning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.

Who I Want to Meet:
I hate people. I am a petulant misanthropist and a maverick ruminator. I am hiply cynical and make supercilious, snide remarks. I am a sly hypocrite, a cunning scammer, a dauntless agnostic, a stalwart of skepticism, an acrimonious and resentful being. I am not bound by social constraints or euphemisms, I liberally enthuse my impressions of people, and I am not shackled or confined by daily ephemerals of public perception.I am antipathetical towards misologists, an advocate of misotheism, and I hate miso soup.

Glow of a Firefly

A long, long time ago. A memory from many summers ago. I held a tiny firefly in my childish hands. Looking as if it's almost about to dissapear, such a tiny fragile glow.

SHAWN JOHNSON WOOOOOOOO

Shawn Johnson and Michael Phelps

I am sure everyone has an olympic favorite, be it Michael Phelps ( monster of a swimmer) or Usain Bolt ( monster of a runner). But non of them are comparable to my Olympic favorite, Shawn Johnson. Talented, pretty, cute, you name it she has it. I'm sure one day she would be as popular as Michael Phelps, maybe winning 9 golds in the next Olympic meet. Till then I'll be rooting for her! GO GOGOGO SHAWN JOHNSON

Tyrannosaurus rex

It came on great oiled, resilient, striding legs. It towered thirty feet above half of the trees, a great evil god, folding its delicate watchmaker's claws close to its oily reptilian chest. Each lower leg was a piston, a thousand pounds of white bone, sunk in thick ropes of muscle, sheathed over in a gleam of pebbled skin like the mail of a terrible warrior. Each thigh was a ton of meat, ivory, and steel mesh. And from the great breathing cage of the upper body those two delicate arms dangled out front, arms with hands which might pick up and examine men like toys, while the snake neck coiled. And the head itself, a ton of sculptured stone, lifted easily upon the sky. Its mouth gaped, exposing a fence of teeth like daggers. Its eyes rolled, ostrich eggs, empty of all expression save hunger. It closed its mouth in a death grin. It ran, its pelvic bones crushing aside trees and bushes, its taloned feet clawing damp earth, leaving prints six inches deep wherever it settled its weight. It ran with a gliding ballet step, far too poised and balanced for its ten tons. It moved into a sunlit area warily, its beautifully reptile hands feeling the air.

LAWS AND THEOREMS

As soon as the body is immersed fully in the bathtub, the telephone will ring

At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last

If you use the excuse that you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the next morning you will actually have a flat tire

When you dial a wrong number, you never get an engaged one

After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch

If you change queues, the one you have left will start to move faster than the one you are in now

As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold

The probability of meeting someone you know increases when you are in a situation where you do not want to be seen by anybody

When you try to prove to the repairman that a machine doesn’t work, it will

When you are working late, the boss will never be around. When you are surfing the net the boss will always drop by

The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reachability of the area

Phrases Phrases Phrases

People have the right to be stupid. Some people abuse that privilege.

Just remember... if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day

You see a lot of smart guys with dumb women, but you hardly ever see a smart woman with a dumb guy.

This is why we cant wake up in the morning

Cheers to all who are doing any of the following:

1. You set your alarm to go off 10 minutes before you have to leave the house; you need as much sleep as you can get.

2. You think the "Snooze" button is the best creation in the world.

3. Once you are woken up by the alarm, and the time reads 8:56 am, you decide you need to round off the number before getting up; it’s just wrong getting up at 8:56.

4. And once it rounds off to 9:00 am, you delude yourself into thinking you can actually go back to sleep just for five minutes.

5. Next time you look at your clock, its noon. You don’t understand how five minutes lasted so long, and now you’re late AGAIN.

6. You say you’ll go to bed early, but stay up till five in the morning anyway, for no apparent reason.

7. Bed is your favourite place in the world.

8. You've never had breakfast...because you've never had time.

9. You ask people to wake you up, but good luck to them.

10. You figure it’s better to oversleep and be rested than wake up on time and be tired.

11. You daydream about your bed and your fluffy duvet, wishing you could just be asleep.

12. You don’t understand why the day can’t just start in the afternoon; that would make more sense.

13. You need at least 12 hours of sleep to feel good

14. You don’t actually start functioning properly until 6pm.

15. Your head tells you to get up, but you can’t physically find the strength to do it.

16. And finally, your favourite phrase in the world is..."Five more minutes."

Field Trip Reflection Report

(CAST OF TEMPLE)

REFLECTION

After much deliberation and consideration among the various events that were available, I finally decided to watch a play called "Temple" by Cake Theatrical Productions. The play was showcased at the Drama Centre Theatre at the National Library. I was really captivated by the play, even though i could not make any sense out of the plot structure or character relationships. The experience was well worth the money and i would encourage everyone to watch a play someday, when they have the time.

This play is one of the numerous events in the Singapore Arts Festival. The festival was organised by the National Arts Council (NAC) to nurture the arts and make it an integral part of people's lives in Singapore. NAC was set up as a Statutory Board in September 1991 to spearhead the development of arts in Singapore. The Council aims to build a vibrant arts sector by creating a conducive environment where the arts is accessible to all and artistic talents have the necessary resources and capabilities to excel and achieve sustainability in the long term.

Besides earning money, I believe that every event oraganised serves as a stepping stone to be one step closer to acheiving their mission and vision.

For this event, the stakeholders I have identified are the production team, the media, the audience, the shareholders and last but not least the organiser. I feel that the target market for this event is anyone who has interest in the arts. The Singapore Arts Festival offers many different types of events that people can take part in both for free and also for a certain price. For example, you could go to the event at Bedok Reservoir or watch a play at the Drama Center Theatre for a certain price depending on the seat you choose.

The marketing strategies used by NAC to promote the Singapore Arts Festival are quite effective. The events cater to all the different age groups in Singapore and are situated all over Singapore. This way anyone who is interested in participating in any event can just pop by the nearest event which is situated closest to where they live. As for the pricing, people can choose to pay for an event which they are interested to go to or just patronize one of the numerous free events. Banners and billboards are set up in the central areas of Singapore to let people know that the Singapore Arts Festival has started. To cater to students, promotions are given so that they would be even more willing to take part in one of the events. Many different programmes are offered to cater to people with different interests. For example, if a play does not interest you, the Singapore Arts Festival also offers musicals, dance acts, exhibitions and many more. All in all, i feel that the marketing strategies that are being employed are excellent.

This event is able to meet tourist demand to a certain extent. For example, a tourist would not bother to attend an exhibition at Bedok reservoir unless their friends bring them there. Rather, if the event was at Orchard road there would be a higher chance of them staying for the event. Thus I feel that this event is able to cater to tourists but it also does not neglect the locals.

To end, I feel that NAC has done a good job of organising the Singapore Arts Festival. I believe that through this event they are one step closer to realizing their mission and vision. More international performances and acts could be done to raise the value of the event to be aligned with the tourism mission of Singapore

Testing

Seven silly sisters swam south seeking solace, seeming sleepy, speed slacking, slipping silently.
